HILLS REFUND TIGER WOODS BETS
08th June 2011
William Hill are refunding all wagers placed on Tiger Woods across all their channels after his withdrawal from the US Open.
The knee and Achilles injuries which forced him out of the Players Championship after just nine holes a month ago led to his decision not to compete in the second major of the season.
It will be the first time he has missed the event since his 1995 debut.
Hills now have joint favourites, with Lee Westwood, Luke Donald and Phil Mickelson all offered at 12/1.
"Tiger's withdrawal will probably be excellent for turnover as without him the field looks very open and punters will not be looking over their shoulder for a Tiger charge!" said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
