LEINSTER 5/1 TO RETAIN TROPHY
08th June 2011
Heineken Cup champions Leinster are 5/1 with sportingbet to retain the trophy after the draw for next season's group stage.
They have been grouped alongside Bath, Glasgow and tournament debutants Montpellier in Pool 3.
Toulouse are favourites at 3/1 with Sky Bet to win the 2012 final at Twickenham and they will take on Connacht and English duo Gloucester and Harlequins in Pool 6.
Leicester can be backed at 7/1 with Sky Bet.
The Tigers have been matched with Clermont and Ulster, one of this season's quarter-finalists, and Aironi Rugby in Pool 4.
Northampton, beaten by Leinster in last month's final, have drifted out to 12/1 with Sky Bet to win the tournament after they were handed a tricky draw.
The Saints will meet two-time winners Munster, who can be backed at 10/1, as well as Scarlets and Castres in Pool 1.
Aviva Premiership champions Saracens (12/1 with Sky Bet) have managed to avoid any previous Heineken Cup winners, but Biarritz and Ospreys will provide challenging opposition.
Benetton Treviso are the other opponents for Sarries in Pool 5.
Cardiff Blues, who failed to reach the knockout stages this season, can be backed at 25/1 with Betfred.
The Welsh outfit face London Irish, Edinburgh and big-spending Racing Metro in Pool 2.
"European powerhouses Toulouse look to have an outstanding chance of adding a fifth Heineken Cup to their already bulging trophy cabinet," said Chris Smart of Sky Bet.
"The draw looks to have been kind to them, and they should ease to a home quarter-final fixture, from where they will be hard to beat."
